Head Coach & Choreographer
Adwoa has been the head coach and choreographer for the MRU Cubs dance team for the past 5 years and has been involved in dance for most of her life training in Jazz and Hip hop – Hip hop being her main focus of expertise. She’s taught competitive and recreational hip hop for the past 13 years at a variety of different studios in Calgary. Her dance career has given her many amazing opportunities some of which include performing and choreographing for many local and international artists including choreographing for the opening of Warren G, Ice Cube, and Nelly to name a few. In 2004 she became one of the youngest CFL Cheerleaders at the time for the Calgary Stampeder Outriders. Her love for dance is paramount in her life and she strives to share that with everyone she comes in contact with. Aside from dance she loves spending time with family and friends.
Technical Training & Conditioning Coach
Masha co-founded the Cubs Dance Team in 2014. Masha has been dancing since the age of 4 and is trained in classical and contemporary ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and modern. At the age of 15, Masha auditioned for and was accepted into the Performing and Visual Arts program at Central Memorial High School, where she was introduced to African, hip hop, blues, and many more new styles of dance.
In 2009 Masha became a part of Prestige Dance Academy's faculty and has been teaching there ever since. Masha completed her ADAPT training program and is now a certified ADAPT dance teacher.
Masha graduated the elementary education program at MRU with a minor in physical education.
Aside from dance, Masha enjoys spending time outdoors, learning new things, reading, and Netflix.
