Get to Know Jenna:
To describe myself in three words, I am Optimistic, Organized & Genuine.
My reason for joining the team was to make friends in the MRU student community, which has fortunately worked in my favor! The best part of being on the team is sharing all of the laughs and fun times with my comrades. I'm in my third year at MRU but my second year in Communication - Public Relations with a minor in public speaking. I work as a server at a restaurant, and I spend my time in the MRU community at the gym!
I started dancing when I was 12 at my middle school's dance academy program. From there, I trained in my high school's dance elective classes and in the advanced dance program. I also joined my high school cheerleading team and participated in workshops and summer dance camps throughout these years. I have trained in all of the typical dance styles: jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary, tap, etc. My favourite style of dance has always been a tie between hip hop and jazz. In 2016, I was a performer for the Calaway Live outdoor stage shows. I also began dancing with the Calgary Roughnecks Drill Crew in 2016 and have been part of the team ever since. I made the Outriders for the Calgary Stampeders in 2018 and have been part of that team ever since as well.
Game day is the best! My favourite part is always the bonding with teammates that happens in between our performances. I'm most looking forward to supporting our Cougars, win or lose, with post-game celebrations!
