Get to Know Teslyn:
Three words that I would use to describe myself are thoughtful, diligent, and enthusiastic. The team wouldn’t be the same without a group of encouraging and highly entertaining young women on it, therefore, that would have to be my favourite part about being a part of this team.
I am currently in my second year, in the Bachelors of Nursing program at Mount Royal University. I chose to pursue this degree because I don’t think that there is a more rewarding feeling than knowing you have made even the smallest difference in someone’s life. I hope to work in pediatrics after graduating, or further my schooling in the medical field.
I started dancing at eight, training in ballet, jazz, acro, tap, contemporary and lyrical. Most of my background in dance primarily was focused on ballet, however, this season on the dance team, I am learning new styles like hip-hop.
One of my favourite things about game day is when we all gather just before the performance to do our team huddle; this always gets me excited before we perform.
I really enjoy creating art, in particular, drawing. Some other interests I have taken up are running, yoga and meditation.
